I currently have a 2 node dag in our primary Datacenter. Both servers are Windows 2012R2 running exchange 2013 CU10.
Both servers have all roles installed.
First member is a Virtual running in a Windows 2012 R2 hyperV failover cluster.
Second node is a physical server.
We are wanting to extend this to be a 4 node cluster in 2 site Active Active DAG using only 2 witness servers (1 at each location) and implement Datacenter Activation Coordination.
We have Jumbo Frames between sites.
I currently only have 2 nics configured on the virtual exchange server, one for replication, one for production.
The physical server has 6 physical nics, with only 2 configured.(This is the same for both sites)
I am looking for a few things.
1) guidance / suggestions / warnings on the network side of things.
2) What is the best way to bring up the third and forth servers and replicate the database to them?
3) Best practice to get the 3rd and 4th server online and matching existing configurations before they start passing email
4) Should all 4 servers have all roles installed?
5) Any warnings or issues with proposed configuration.
