Hi,
We have 3 servers set up as CAS/HT/MBX servers. We do not use a CAS Array or HLB. 1 Server acts as the main CAS and in event of it failing our plan is to change the DNS records.
Currently we have a DAG set up over the 3 servers with manual activation enabled. We used the command "Set-MailboxServer -Identity SERVER -DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy Blocked" to set this up. However when 1 server fails (switching off to test), the copies change to "Disconnected and Healthy" and after 5/10 minutes they change to "Disconnected and Resychronising". On the server that fails, EMC reports"Service Down" on the copies.
When we try to fail over the server or make a Database live on another server. We get the following error:-
If we re-enable automatic failover and switch the server off, the copies become active on another server fine.
Has anyone ever seen this before or know what could be causing it? All 3 servers are in the same site (although different subnets) and we require manual failover as we have 1 high spec server and 2 low spec servers that we only want to use in a disaster.
Thanks,
