Exchange 2013 high availability mailbox database ExchangeLegacyDN

Hey, just a short question brought up by a backup software provider.

What should the ExchangeLegacyDN parameter value of a highly available mailbox database be?

In an Exchange 2013 environment which has been upgraded from Exchange 2010 (also clustered) the value currently seems to be set like this by default, and according to the backup software provider it is incorrect:

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>get-mailboxdatabase | select name,exchangelegacydn | fl
Name             : Mailbox1
ExchangeLegacyDN : /o=contoso Oy/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=mail.contoso.com/cn=Microsoft Private MDB

In a single-server environment the value seems to be empty, but in this case emptying it does not seem to be the correct solution (Powershell get-mailboxdatabase crashes if empty, for example..)

There are two servers (CAS, Mailbox on both), let's call them EXC1.contoso.com and EXC2.contoso.com. There is a round robin DNS record mail.contoso.com which points to both servers.

The backup software provider is saying that ExchangeLegacyDN should be either EXC1 or EXC2, which sounds a bit strange to me. How should that actually be set and what side effects does changing it have?
