IllegalCrossServer Exception Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG

Hello,

I have an Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG with 2 Exchange Servers.
On one Exchange Server I am not able to open the ECP, (On the other one it is working fine), but owa works on both.
After inserting the credentials into the login page, a blank page appears.


When I am check then the logs I find this warning with eventid 1309.
I already tried to recreate the HealthDatabases and the ECP VirtualDirectory.

Exchange server 2010 DAG failover without reason

Dear All,

i have an Exchange 2010 DAG two DAG at primary site and one at DR site,every 2 days my DAG failovers to another node in the primary site,i don't what is the reason i cannot find any event log also for this,can anyone tell how to find the reason for the switching of the DAG

Hi;

I am running two Ex2013 Std server in DAG mode, recently I found that the witness share in use has problem, when I run

get-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Identity EXDAG -status | fl

I got this....

I browsed internet for two days but cannot find a solution that fit me.  What should I try?

HA for the ETS role

Good morning, all!

I'm finalizing a design and starting production installations for a new Exchange 2013 SP1 infrastructure in our company.  I want to know if I can use two ETS servers, one in each datacenter, and cross-connect them to the CAS/Mailbox servers in the opposite datacenter.  It would look something like this:Candidate configuration 1

The orange connections are the ones I would add.  Would this be a supported configuration for Exchange?  Might there be complications to be aware of prior to deploying this configuration?

CAS load balancing

 Hello,

I have a two Node Dag Exchange 2013 MultiRole server. The Usermailbox is on Node One and mounted and in Healthy status. If for some reason the Backend MSExchangeOWAapppool is stopped on Node ONE the user will not be able to access the mailbox, even though the Node Two Mulit role is up and functional. Healthchecks on the (netscaler) load balancer still direct owa requests to node ONE even though the pool has failed and the node is down. If I remove the load balancer it acts the same way. Is the component level failure not detected in Exchange 2013?

New exchange 2013 DAG/Site resilience with Exchange 2010 co-existence

Hi,

We have a single exchange 2010 server that we are planning to retire so that we can move to 2013. Is it possible for us to setup a new exchange 2013 environment with DAG across two data centers while we have 2010 running? We have tested a single to single migration without any issues(very easy).

Any restrictions on this one?

Hi all! I’ve got problem with my Exchange Server (2013). I have an error # JET_errInvalidDatabase -1028. What’s the problem it might be? And how it can be solved? It would be nice if there will be any answer, that could help me. Maybe I should install some tool to recover it?

I am running across the issue that belongs to Seeding, I have two site & two multirole exchange 2013 RU 7 server, Connected with 4 MBPS MPLS Connectivity, We have configured DAG, Earlier everything was working fine, Last two days back, we want to took server switch over all the database move to another server expect one Database & we got some "

ExecutivesDB

Mailbox database copy "ExecutivesDB\EXCHVMCP" is currently being used as a seeding source. You can use Move-Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase with the -SkipActiveCopyChecks parameter to bypass the seeding source validation check and move the active database.

For more clarity Please check the error

DAG Performance Between Sites

I have a three member Exchange 2010 DAG.  Two members (MB1,MB2) are in Site A, and the third member (MB3) is in Site B.

I have a Riverbed Steelhead WAN Optimizer in both Site A/B.

I'm replicating from Site A to Site B.

I can see that replication traffic is going through port 64327 on MB1 and that ports 59090,59091,59092 and 59111 used on MB3.  I have a connection for each mailbox database.

Compression is disabled in the DAG.  We have a 100MB MPLS.  We are getting 300MB to 400MB LAN throughput with the Riverbed using the full 100MB MPLS.

Now when I add a 5th mailbox database copy from MB2 to MB3, I see that port 64327 is being used on MB1, but the port on MB3 is 16125.  Now, I only see 6MB being used in the MPLS instead of closer to 100MB.  Riverbed is still providing the same reduction rate.

I saw the port change on MB3 from 59000 to 16000.  Is this the issue?

Anything else to look at?

Usign OWA, OAB, Active Sync when primary DAG servers switches to secondary

I have 2 servers set up in a simple DAG setup with my one witness server. Mail1 - Primary, Mail2 - Secondary, and FS1 - Witness server. 

Of course on the first server mail1 all of the external settings are populated for OWA, OAB, and so on and works fine. So what is the proper way to have external OWA, OAB, and so work also on mail2?  Lets say when I take the mail1 offline for or when the primary database moves to the 2nd server mail2?

Put existing DB's in a DAG

Hi

Might sound hard to believe but my org has really never looked at using DAG. We're in the middle of a VMWare to HyperV migration, and I was thinking of using a DAG to get the mailboxes over to a new HyperV VM, instead of migrating the entire VM (which will take a very long time).

So, can I create a DAG and pick the databases I want in it ? Or is a DAG based on a per server base meaning all DB's on a server are in a DAG if you add the server to a DAG ?

And can I at all put existing DB's in a DAG or can I only add them when I create a DB ?

Also, can DAG's work across different Exchange versions ? Meaning one DAG member is E2010 and the other E2013 ? Probably not, but this would be nice too.

Maintenance on FSW and dag node

Hi, during maintenance of a multirole Exchange 2013 2-node DAG in DAC mode we have to shutdown node2 AND the witness (deployed on its own VM, on the same Hyper-V host as node2). 2 DB's (1 active on each node), no replay.

Action plan:

Run maintenance script on node2 and check switchover - shutdown node2

Shutdown FSW

Is node1 with the 2 active DB's available after this ? And is cluster operations automatically resumed after starting first FSW and then node2 ?

i thought i have high availability

Exchange 2013 CU4

a while back, the blades where my PDC, MB02, CAS02 are hosted suddenly went down. the other half of my DAG is still online as well as several DC servers. however, the high availability we were expecting with the deployed Exchange didn't happen. everyone is offline with Exchange.

only when the downed servers came online and after several minutes after they became online did our Exchange services returned. in this regards, what did we do wrong that we didn't achieved high availability?

one question keeps haunting me, does Exchange rely heavily on the Windows file cluster?

this is my Exchange block diagram below. the load balancer repositioned is was pointing to the remaining, alive Exchange server.

exchange .edb corrupt

hi all,

Had an exchange server go down, got the exchange .edb files only to find its corrupt, tried to use eseutil.exe to repair the file but when I try and open it with ontrack powercontrols saying its corrupt still.

How do I export database from corrupt exchange EDB files?
I wonder, how can I fix corrupt EDB files issue? I was trying to migrate & convert my EDB file to PST. I had my EDB files back-up but, it seems corrupt now. I need recovery of all Calendars, Contacts, Journals, Distribution List and Tasks from corrupt backup EDB file anyhow. Please suggest some valuable steps for quick procedure.

With Exchange 2013 and having multiple passive copies along with a daily backup running on the databases, is there a point of having a lag copy for a database? If so, how many days should it lag behind, 1 day or 7 days??

Exchange Server HA Design - 2 sites, 1 CAS and 1 Mailbox in each site

Hi,

For a HA implementation between 2 sites I am suggesting to implement 2 CAS Servers and 2 Mailbox Servers in each site, but the customer is asking me for a cheaper solution.

So, Is posible to implement an HA solution putting 1 CAS and 1 Mailbox Server in each site? what are the pro and cons?

Exchange 2010 Remove-DatabaseAvailabilityGroupServer fails with error KeyNotFoundException

We've had a DAG member go down, and need to bring it back into the DAG.  I'm getting the below error when trying to remove it from the dag.  Is it because the server has been rebuilt and added back into the domain already?  Can I remove it from the AD config node?  Any feedback is appreciated.

copy queue length increase for some Exchange DB in DR Server

Hi All

 We are  enabled  the  DAG in our Exchange 2010 Setup which includes 2 nos of mail box server, Primary and DR.  I observed  in our DR server  some database Copy Queue length was increased  to some 500 to 1000.  we have some  10 DBs in our exchange setup only 2 DBs are showing this  issue. I  checked with Test-ReplicationHealth  cmd  with my DR Server it shows  failed error on DBLogCopyKeepingup.

any body please helpme to resolve the issue, much much appreciated.

Unable to locate/recover a deleted mailbox from Exchange 2013

Apx 2 months ago an employee left our company and the AD account was disabled.

In Exchange 2013 ECP, the mailbox was granted Full Access to the users supervisor, for cleanup and eventual archiving.

Yesterday, a mistake was made and the disabled user account was deleted from Active Directory.

Today ldp.exe was used to recover the Ad account from the recycle bin.

The Exchange mailbox can not be found today and I would have expected to have 30 days to recover it:

The mailbox is retained until the deleted mailbox retention period expires, which is 30 days by default,
and then it’s permanently deleted (or purged) from the mailbox database.

I am guessing that since the user was disabled in AD apx 60 days ago, that when the user account was deleted yesterday, the mailbox was permanently removed.

Would anyone be able to confirm that the typical 30 day retention of a deleted mailbox, is not applicable when the user account was disabled 60 days ago?

Damaged NSF file

Hello,I have a damaged NSF file and I am not sure what happened to it. The error message says that the file is truncated and may have been damaged. Is there a repair tool available for NSF files? Does Lotus Corp have any free tool to open or correct this file?Thanks!
