exchange server connecting and disconnected again error 432 4.3.2 mailbox database is offline

Hello Dears,


the exchange server (2013) not working (not sending and receiving email) , connecting and disconnected again , in queue viewer show error 432 4.3.2 mailbox database is offline for mailbox database ,


from outlook side :

connecting and disconnected again and no emails received or sent


from OWA side :


something went wrong

Exchange DAG

Hi, 

We have Exchange 2013 DAG at Primary site and secondary site (DR) and connected via a MPLS link.  Both Exchange node are activate serve users. Witness is currently configure at Primary site. 

We are planning to shift secondary site DR to another co-location and will turn off the servers at DR site totally including the Exch.  

How long does DR Exchange DAG can be offline actually? Do they have any thombstone setting that I need to take care of? I ask as we might down the DR Exch DAG for long and only able to turn it back ON in next 4-6 weeks later. 

Pls help to provide Microsoft article link if there is any.  Thanks.

DAG Cluster Name offline

hi all , 

we have exchange server 2013 running DAG , we have issue with cluster services due to the Cluster name is not being online and checking the event log of the cluster we see the below error 
" Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' cannot be brought online. Ensure that the network adapters for dependent IP address resources have access to at least one DNS server. Alternatively, enable NetBIOS for dependent IP addresses "

what we have tried is  remove the A record of the cluster from the DNS and create again with all permission and  set the option allow any authenticated user to update DNS .

the ComputerName CNO for the Cluster is now online . 

any suggestion people .

SMTP Relay Works 50% of the Time

Here's our setup. 

We have two Exch 2016 servers, mailboxes for our office are split 50 / 50 between them. We have an app that sends email alerts internally with attachments through anonymous relay. We protect this with IP address authentication on both servers. I set the app to use the IP address of Server1. When messages are sent, they arrive in the mailbox of anyone on Server1. Anyone on Server2 does not receive them. If I set it to use Server2 IP then Server1 does not receive the mail. The internal transfer between servers does work, just not for this particular app. 

If I change the app SMTP settings to one of our overseas offices, which has a single Exchange 2016 server, the mail arrives on both Server1 and 2 (after a brief delay) without issue. 

Why would internal Exchange server to Exchange server transfer work, but the indirect mail relay is not transferred to the other server???

what  exactly needed to be removed regarding old DAG i.e. registry if there is , CNO , and so on

Reviving error when reseed the database copy from the Dr site to production

The seeding operation failed. Error: An error occurred while performing the seed operation. Error: An error occurred while communicating with server(active copy- DR site). Error: a socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network active copy (DR site)_server_ip:64327.

I am able to telnet to source server on the port 64327

Any suggestions

Exchange 2010 5 node DAG majority

Hi team,


In am Exchange Server 2010 5 node DAG architecture where a FSW is also configured in the DAG config. settings the servers are placed as below;

3 - Head Office

2 - DR Site


Lets say if the DR is completely down due to maintenance. In such a situation what will happen if 1 of my HO server goes down?


Will the DAG fail?

Exchange Server Auth Certificate Replication

Does anyone have more detail on the replication of this certificate?

I have 4 servers in 2 primary sites in a DAG and the certificate is on all 4 servers.

I also have another 2 new servers installed a bit later in a separate 3rd site and the certificate is not present on either of them.

My understanding is that the certificate should automatically replicate to any new servers.

I'm looking for more detail about which service actually does this replication and over which port.

My network team assure me that the firewall rules between all 3 sites are the same, supposedly wide open, but who knows.

Obviously I could renew the certificate and see if that flows through but I've been told to get an understanding of how it all hangs together in case the new one doesn't replicate either. i.e. It's partially working, don't break it more.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Exchange clarification

Dear Team,

   We are having a domain with xyz.com and two mail servers are running on our environment,One is  Exchange server 2013 2 nos of  CAS and 2 no of mailbox with DAG and other one Zimbra mailserver. Some set of Users are in Exchange and Some set are in Zimbra mailserver. All my external mail to send to  xyz.com for zimbra mailbox users it will come via exchange server and from exchange server it will be forwarded to Zimbra server and all out going mails goes via from respective server.

My concern ..... I have other office nearly 30 kms away where i need to have other setup of same mailserver we can say DR with Exchange 2013 should be in active active mode with same zimbra server will be there. 

can you suggest how to take forward...

Testing Exchange 2013 Failover to Passive Copy

Hey folks

In prep for a project to shift to Exchange online early next year, I'm trying to get the current on-premise to work as quickly as possible.

I've built 2 new MBX servers onto SSD based VSAN storage, and am testing failover behavior.

I have 2 source LIVE MBX servers that I have seeded DB's from already, and am now doing another test from the existing Passive DB's that are in another Datacenter onto this new storage infra. Anyway, this is just detail.

The problem:

- I created Test DB 1 on the other Datacenter PASSIVE Server. DC2_Server_A

- Created a Test DB 1 COPY on the new SSD stuff. DC1_Server_C

I can successfully switch between those servers manually and it works no problem.

However, if I Stop the Information store on DC2_Server_A, the Mounted DB does dismount, BUT, it doesn't seem to even try and mount on the partner server (DC1_Server_C)..... The Content Index state on the partner server just suddenly reports *failed*, whereas seconds before it would report *Healthy*.

What I've tried:

1. Deleted the partner servers Catalogue folder and reset it. Same problem

2. Checked the status of the dismounted DB on DC2_Server_A using eseutil, it's a clean shutdown

3. made absolutely sure that the activation block I had put on the partner server has been set back to "unrestricted" as opposed to "BLOCKED".

Not sure what else to try.  the partner server keep reporting the following at the point I stop the information store on the source server:

""Exchange Search Indexer failed to enable the Mailbox Database C12ReplicationTest (GUID = 7fba9bff-d7bb-40fb-b8ff-c40599449fb2) after 1 tries. The last failure was: MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to get CI watermark.""

Any ideas what I can try next?

How to recover user's mailbox deleted from Active Directory

Hi,

One of  my team member accidently deleted a user from Active directory. Now his mailbox is also deleted. Is there any chance to recover his mailbox if we create a new user for that user?

Adding Exchange 2016 in Exchange 2013 DAG

Hello,

We have DAG cluster of two Exchange 2013 servers. We plan to migrate to Exchange 2016.

The question and the plan is:

Can we add new Exchange 2016 in the Exchange 2013 DAG cluster migrate the databases and decommission the Exchange 2013?

Is it possible to mix exchange versions? In what CU Exchange servers should be compatible?

Delete recoveryDB causing errors

Hello all,

I did create recoverydb and after i done i did remove it "remove-mailboxdatabase -identity databasename"and after that i got an error 1006 "The Microsoft exchange mailbox replication service was unable to process jobs in mailbox database"then i did restart replication service and information store from services but did dint resolve the problem, i did run repadmin /syncall to replicate changes between DCs and after that i got a new error 106 "performance counter updating error" around 11 events. What else can i do to resolve those errors. why deleteting recovery DB causing those errors.

Hi 

Please find the setup configuration as below.

Windows Server 2016 DC

Exchange 2016 CU10 

4 Server Running Mailbox role. with 2 nic (1 NIC for Production Network and 1 NIC for Replication network)

Witness Server is hosted On FileServer.

When adding a database copy to a server in the dag I receive the following error message

The seeding operation failed. Error: An error occurred while running prerequisite checks. Error: The specified database isn't configured for replication and therefore cannot be used to perform seed operations. [Database: 12345, Server: NewEamilServer.something.COM]

but after closing Wizard I can see it create database on Server and After few minutes the Database Status and  Content index state Healthy. 

My question is why is this error message is show when every time i create and add database.

Exchange 2013 - DAG Question

Hello,

Just a quick question.

Does anyone know what the Maximum Copy Queue Length and Replay Queue Length should be in a DAG environment before this becomes a problem? I guess it should be set to 0 or 1 most of the time for a healthy environment but i would like to set up an Alert to monitor if the Queue's reach a certain amount so we can keep an eye on this. Does anyone know what MS recommendation for this would be?

Hopefully this makes sense.

both the DAG's in each site holding 3 servers are down. What can we do to restore please suggest

Exchange 2013 DAG and Email Alert when Database Failover

Hi Experts,

I currently have a Exchange 2013 DAG running on 2 nodes (Windows 2012 R2) with a File Share Witness.  I have 3 databases and they are all seeded successfully to node 2.

My question is:

  1.  How can I set up an email notification to inform me immediately when a Database fails over to node 2?

Could do with step by step instructions if at all possible.
